How to Post: Guidelines

To get started simply log into your HospoHawker account and follow the prompts;
Buyers like to see images and descriptions that accurately represent an item they are purchasing. See below Guidelines for pictures and descriptions to create the most successful post/ad possible.

Ensure you take all your own images and write the text yourself If you use text or an image that was created by someone else, make sure that you have permission to use the text or image from the rights owner or creator.

Photo Guidelines!

1.You must ensure images are in focus, well lit, in colour and free of clutter around the product you are photographing.

TIP – we recommend photographing your product away from other items (where possible) to avoid clutter/distraction in the images

examples: smaller products/items try photographing on a white tablecloth so the product is visible to the buyer larger products/items for example, a table, should be photographed without chairs around it so it is visible to the buyer. A fridge for example pulled out from the wall and free of food and beverages.

2.When you create a post, you must include at least one photo that shows the product clearly, but we recommend including more to help increase your chances of a successful enquiries.

3.We recommend including the following images in addition to the above.
Overview of the product – stand back and ensure the whole product is inside the image
Front of the product
Each side (if applicable)
Back of product
Top of product (if applicable)
and any marks, dents, scratches, rips, wear and tear of note, this is so your potential buyers can get an idea of the condition of your product, this will ensure better enquiry of your product and in turn your opportunity to sell without any issues that may arise.

The following are not allowed:

Photos that don't accurately represent the item and its condition

Placeholder images used to convey messages

Stock photos for used, damaged, or defective items

Photos with added borders

Photos with added text, artwork or marketing material

Watermarks of any type, including those used for ownership attributions

Posts that don’t follow HospoHawker policy could result in a variety of actions including for example: administratively removing posts, account suspension until the issues are resolved – please refer to our what can’t be posted policy to ensure you a successful post.

Description Tips!

Your item description is one of the most important parts of your post because it helps buyers decide whether to buy your item and what to expect if they do. Item descriptions that don't accurately describe your item can mislead buyers. To help avoid this, read our guidelines below.

All content in a post must be directly related to the item or the seller's terms and conditions.

Post descriptions must be accurate and not mislead the buyer. For example, the product condition selected must match the item and should be consistent across all areas of the post (title, description, and item specifics).

The following are not allowed:
* Symbols should be replaced with words (For example, Use "Copyright" instead of ©)
* Subscript, superscript, emojis or other special characters
* Confusing or unclear titles or subtitles
* Item specifics must be accurate. When item specifics are required, they must be filled out completely.

The following are not allowed:
* Use of inaccurate information such as "Does not apply," unbranded/generic, or "N/A" for required product identifiers when the manufacturer has provided that information for the product
* Including information that is not specific to that field, such as the brand of an item in the item specific for size
* Including terms in the wrong field of the post
* Product details must match the item exactly when creating a post
* Items must be listed in the correct category
* Item descriptions must be in English

Can I use images or descriptions that I copied from other websites in my post or product page?

No, you can't use images or descriptions copied from other websites or internet searches in your post or product page, unless the owner of the image has given you permission.

You should make sure you have permission from the rights owner or creator before you use the following: Images or text copied from websites or internet searches

Stock photos and text

Information from product packaging

It's generally OK to use information such as measurements, weight or other item specifications that are necessary to describe the item that you simply can't say any other way. However, you should avoid using any other text from product packaging.

Scans or text copied from catalogues or advertisements

As above, sellers must accurately represent the items they are selling. It may be considered copyright infringement if you copy and use images and text without permission from the rights owner or creator.
